Older Jeffries Osprey in for a few repairs, new knee pads and MOT!
Lovely Stubben saddle in for a bit of an MOT! All sorted and client wanted panels dyed darker for working hunter. Hot coconut treatment, new girthstraps, repaired and restitched. Good to go!
Griffin synthetic saddle came in for some urgent repairs .
Ready for XC tomorrow!!
Beautiful Ideal show saddle in for doeskin seat and knee pads, extra thigh block popped on and a good oil all round.
Hastilow dressage saddle in for new leather seat and kneepads to replace the worn suede.
Albion K2 came in for a new suede seat and new girth straps all round. Lovely saddle!
This Jeffries saddle had a worn seat and needed new girth straps and re-stuffed to suit the horse who acquired this saddle so it was comfy for him. We replaced the seat with top quality chocolate suede, added new straps and removed the old flocking which wasn't the best quality and replaced it with luxury pure merino wool. |

Often saddles are re-stuffed several times in its lifetime. Sadly some saddlers use cheaper poly mix flocking which balls up and causes sore backs. We use luxury pure merino wool which is indeed more expensive however lasts longer, doesn't ball and feels amazing!
Saddles are often 'written off' by clients. We had a client who needed a good quality saddle for her new young horse. After discussing what we would be looking for, I noticed a good quality saddle in her tack room in need of a refurbishment. I suggested this and we had a go! The saddle needed re-stuffed to fit correctly, new girth straps, stitching up front and back and a couple of minor repairs. We then gave this saddle one of our special hot coconut oil treatments and by the end of the day had a correctly fitting, soft and safe saddle which is being used daily! Sometimes it is worth spending less on a saddle you already have than several hundred on another. |

Girth straps are one of our most frequent repairs.
Some people do not realise how dangerous old girth straps can be. Always better having them replaced yearly and sometimes more often if required. Ours are made from strong Italian buffalo leather for extra strength and hand sewn on by thick nylon braided thread. Safety first!! |
Point straps and balance straps can also be added for extra stability.
This saddle is over 30 years old. It comes in every year for a re-stuff, straps and a general MOT!
Still being used daily. Goes to show, if looked after and maintained, a saddle can last a lifetime! |

This older Jeffries saddle came in for some repairs and a general MOT. Needed new straps, flaps re-stitched, a flocking top up , some collapsed piping and a good oil. Owner didn't want a new seat this time as it was a youngster saddle and could be damaged again. |

Another Jeffries in for its yearly girth strap replacement.
The saddle above belongs to one of Yvonne Stuarts stallions. It had a worn seat and we agreed it would look much neater with a new suede seat. Much smarter for the show ring! A joy to do.
We occasionally have items brought in to be re-dyed. The saddle above was light tan and its owner wanted it dyed a beautiful oxblood colour. The end result was stunning!
This little saddle above came in for a new knee pad replacement.
